Baby First aid
The Principal Training Baby first aid course was born out of research by Mother and Baby Magazine back in 2002. The research showed:
- 19% of parents have seen their child choke but 69% didn’t know what to do.
- 92% of parents don’ think their baby sitter would know what to do in relation to first aid
- 41% of babies and young children have received a burn and 60% of parents don’t know what to do.
There is currently no legislation surrounding baby first aid courses and almost anyone could start to teach it. We feel this is quite worrying and therefore our courses are audited to ensure we constantly meet current protocols. We have also joined the One in a Million Campaign, the campaign to help parents to learn baby and child first aid.
